Dear Parents,
I hope this email finds you and your families healthy and safe. Last Friday, we held our final Ding Hao Online Summer Camp class, and I feel very proud of our students’ dedication and effort this summer to attending online summer classes. I am very grateful for your continued support of Ding Hao as we made the successful transition into online Chinese language and culture learning. I am excited to see new and familiar faces return to Ding Hao, as we continue classes online for the fall semester.
Please note that registration for Ding Hao’s fall semester is officially open. Fall semester classes will start on Saturday, September 12. You may find the registration form and details here: http://dinghao.ccagp.org/?page_id=169. Please note the tuition has been decreased to reflect our transition to online classes.
School age tuition for the virtual fall semester is discounted to $240 (including the non-refundable $25 registration fee). Classes are Saturdays tentatively from 9:30 to 11:30 AM. Due to the 2 hour virtual classes being difficult for our younger students to sit through, the Kindergarten classes will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 AM and tuition reduced to $150 for the semester. The adult conversation class meets from 9:45 to 11:15 AM and will also cost $150 for the semester. Please note depending on registration, class times may vary by a half hour. Please keep contact with your student’s teacher, as they will be communicating any changes or updates to the class times.
Please note there are two fees charged per family: A $10 PTO fee is charged per family, and a $12.50 CCAGP (Chinese Cultural Association of Greater Philadelphia) per family per semester. CCAGP is the umbrella organization under which Ding Hao functions, and all Ding Hao parents are considered CCAGP members. Ding Hao aims to never turn away a child due to financial difficulty. Scholarships are available via the Sher Shon Kung Memorial Scholarship.
If you have any questions or concerns about which level placement is best for your child/children, please do not hesitate to contact me at bettycfoo@gmail.com or 610-527-2548. Students are welcome to try a higher level class as we are flexible and dedicated to finding the right class for your child/children. During the fall semester, students’ language learning will be emphasized through learning daily expressions and manners, health and safety expressions, and cultural traditions. Please refer to the attached document for a greater review of this fall semester’s curriculum.
We are all in this together during this difficult period of transition to online classes. Please do not hesitate to contact me or your students’ teacher should you have any questions or concerns. We aim to provide the best Chinese language learning experience for you and your child/children. Thank you again for your support.
I’m looking forward to seeing you all online for the fall semester!
Best,
Betty
