Dear Parents and Teachers,
Welcome to the 2016 Ding Hao fall semester. We are Steve and Kris Swindler and this is our first year as PTO chairs, taking over from Christine Giordano who did such a great job for 4 years. Our daughters Isabella (13) and Lila (8) have been attending Ding Hao since they were 2 or 3 years old. We are happy to have a chance to contribute to the school. We plan on sending a weekly newsletter regarding school events and news along with any communication from our Principal, Betty Foo. We welcome any questions, comments, or suggestions you may have regarding school activities and fundraising efforts.
As all of our returning families know, without our wonderful parents volunteering through the year during our various school events and as homeroom parents, we could not be as successful as we have been. Please consider volunteering to be homeroom parents or for different duties during the various events the school will be holding this year.

Donuts/Chinese Bakery Items
Complimentary donuts, coffee, and pastries from a Chinese bakery will be available on the bridge on the first day of school to welcome you back. Stop by and sample some of the treats. At this point, we are not planning on offering donuts for sale on a weekly basis like we did last year. If anyone is interested in assuming this responsibility, please let us know.
School Calendar
We have attached the 2016 fall semester calendar. Please refer to the calendar for upcoming events. Right now, the picture date is tentative, but we will be confirming that date in the next week or so.
Summer Camp
Ding Hao summer camp was a great success. The children had a great time learning about Chinese art, language, cooking, and songs. Chinanews.com visited the camp and published an article with great photos. You can read an English translation of the article at http://dinghao.ccagp.org/wo
